Replace your missing teeth with a dental prosthetic

Why do you need dentures? If you've lost some or all of your teeth due to gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth with dental dentures can improve your appearance by supporting your cheeks and lips as well as help you eat and speak clearly.

A denture or a complete denture is an appliance that's inserted in the mouth and designed to look like your natural teeth. At Now Care Dental, our experienced dentists can evaluate and recommend the right dentures for you, and take exact measurements in order to prepare a long-lasting denture that fits your mouth and your lifestyle.

Types of dentures and denture implants

Most dentures are made of acrylic, the teeth are made of plastic, porcelain or a combination of both. Dentures can be fabricated to fit over endodontically treated teeth and a complete denture can be attached to dental implants to allow for a more secure fit of the appliance.

An upper denture is usually flesh colored and covers the palate or roof of your mouth; a lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe in order to leave room for your tongue.

At this time, Now Care Dental does not offer "Same Day Dentures", new dentures require a couple appointments. Your first appointment we'll take impressions of your teeth and then the follow up appointment we can remove the existing teeth and insert and fit your new dentures.

There are 3 types of dentures:

Conventional denture

Fits in your mouth several months after all teeth have been extracted and the tissues or gums have healed ‐ it's completely removable.

Immediate denture (same-day dentures)

Placed immediately in the mouth after your teeth have been extracted, the tissues then heal under the denture.

Overdenture

Fits over some remaining natural teeth in your mouth, which offer additional support for your denture and jawbone.

Caring for your dentures

Over time, dentures will wear and need to be replaced or relined to keep the jaw aligned correctly. Alignment can change as the bone and gum ridges recede or shrink due to the teeth extractions. Regular dentist examinations are important for denture wearers so the tissues can be checked for disease or change.

To keep your dentures stain-free longer, you should clean both your dentures and mouth after eating, scrub your dentures. During regular dental check-ups, your dentist can deep clean the dentures and tighten the fit to avoid irritation or infection.
