If our endodontic dentists conclude you need root canal retreatment, they will reopen your tooth and remove the restorative root canal filling—so they can carefully examine and clean the inside of the tooth. The area will be filled and sealed and you’ll receive a temporary filling. To fully restore your tooth, you must return to your dentist as soon as possible for a new crown or restoration.
