Looking to improve your smile? The experienced dentists at Now Care Dental are skilled in restorative procedures like cosmetic dental bonding that can help you achieve the look you want by improving the appearance of your teeth. If you have chipped, cracked, discolored or crooked teeth, tooth bonding is an alternative solution to porcelain veneers.
How does dental bonding work?
In most cases, the teeth bonding process can be completed in just one appointment.
Our dentists will prepare your tooth by lightly etching the surface and applying a bonding liquid.
Once the liquid sets, we’ll apply a thin coating of plastic which can be molded and shaped to fill a gap or reshape your tooth. We can even color-match it to the rest of your teeth. Finally, the plastic is bonded to your tooth with a high-intensity light—and then trimmed, smoothed and polished to a natural appearance.
How effective is teeth bonding?
The plastic resin used in cosmetic dental bonding is not as strong as your natural tooth enamel. Which means it’s more likely to stain, chip or break than natural teeth. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before you’ll need a repair.
